Standing With Survivors, Not Standing By
In 2025, Klir Online joined organisations across Nottingham in supporting Nottingham Turns Orange, a city-wide campaign raising awareness of gender-based violence during the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
Led by partners including Juno Women’s Aid, the campaign brought together businesses, charities, community organisations and public sector partners to send a powerful message:
Violence against women and girls is everyone’s responsibility.
For Klir Online, taking part was not about visibility.
It was about values.
Why This Matters
Every year, thousands of women and girls experience domestic abuse, coercive control, sexual violence and other forms of gender-based violence.
Behind every statistic is a person, a family and a community affected by trauma.
Too often these conversations are left solely to specialist organisations.
But creating safer communities requires action from everyone.
Businesses have a role to play.
Community organisations have a role to play.
Individuals have a role to play.
More Than Awareness
Campaigns such as Nottingham Turns Orange are important because they create opportunities for conversation, education and action.
Awareness alone is not enough.
Real change happens when organisations examine how they can contribute to safer, more inclusive communities.
That might mean:
• Creating supportive workplace cultures
• Signposting support services
• Challenging harmful behaviours
• Supporting survivor-led initiatives
• Investing in community programmes
• Using platforms to amplify important messages
Why Klir Online Supports This Work
As a purpose-led social business, Klir Online believes visibility should be used for good.
Many of the projects we support focus on confidence, empowerment, inclusion and creating opportunities for people who have historically been overlooked.
Our work through community partnerships, training programmes and projects such as Project COFFE is rooted in helping people rebuild confidence, access opportunities and feel seen.
Because empowerment starts with safety.
And opportunity starts with support.
