In 2025, Klir Online founder Danniebelle Gunter attended the B-Global x Gedling Sustainability Event, bringing together businesses, social enterprises, charities and community organisations committed to creating a more sustainable future.

While the event covered a range of topics, one session stood out.

A practical sustainability roadmap workshop delivered by Gareth from GSC Sustainability.

For Klir Online, it wasn’t just another networking event.

It was an opportunity to step back, reflect on our purpose and think more strategically about the impact we want to create over the next few years.

Sustainability Is More Than Being Green

When many people hear the word sustainability, they think about recycling, reducing waste or lowering carbon emissions.

While these things are important, Gareth challenged attendees to think much bigger.

His sustainability roadmap focused on how organisations can create long-term value through people, partnerships, purpose and impact.

The workshop encouraged organisations to ask:

• Why do we exist?

• Who benefits from our work?

• How do we measure our impact?

• What legacy are we creating?

• Are we building something that will still matter in five years?

For Klir Online, these questions couldn’t have been more relevant.

As a purpose-led social business, our goal has never been to simply provide marketing services.

Our mission is to help organisations become more visible while creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and thrive.

Measuring What Matters

One of Gareth’s most powerful messages was that organisations shouldn’t wait until they are bigger before measuring impact.

They should start capturing the difference they are already making.

That message resonated strongly.

Over the last few years, Klir Online has worked with charities, CICs, community groups and small businesses while also creating opportunities for volunteers, students, freelancers and emerging creatives.

We’ve seen people gain confidence.

We’ve seen volunteers develop new skills.

We’ve seen students move into employment.

We’ve seen organisations increase their visibility and strengthen their impact.

The challenge now is measuring and evidencing those outcomes more effectively.

From Marketing Agency to Social Business

The workshop reinforced something that has always been part of Klir Online’s DNA.

We are not just a digital marketing business.

We are a social business.

Alongside social media marketing, websites, branding and digital support, we actively create opportunities through:

• Student internships

• Volunteer placements

• Digital skills development

• Community partnerships

• Employability support

• Mentoring and confidence building

Because when people are given opportunities, communities become stronger.

Sharing Knowledge Through Action

The day ended with Danniebelle delivering a branding workshop for Pilgrim Church, exploring how organisations can strengthen their visibility, communicate their values and tell their stories more effectively.

It was a reminder that sustainability isn’t just about learning.

It’s about sharing knowledge and helping others grow too.

The strongest organisations don’t just build success for themselves.

They help others succeed along the way.

What Success Looks Like

For Klir Online, success isn’t measured solely by revenue.

Success is:

• A volunteer gaining confidence

• A student securing employment

• A charity reaching more people

• A founder feeling empowered to tell their story

• A community organisation increasing its impact

• A partnership creating opportunities for others

These are the outcomes that matter.

Supporting Sustainable Development Goals

This work contributes towards:

• SDG 4 – Quality Education

• SDG 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth

• SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

• SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities

• SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production

• SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

Key Takeaway

The biggest lesson from Gareth’s sustainability roadmap was simple.

Sustainability isn’t a policy.

It isn’t a checklist.

And it isn’t something reserved for large organisations.

It’s about building something that creates value long after you’re gone.

For Klir Online, that means creating visibility, opportunity and impact for the people and communities we serve.
